WHOLE WHEAT PASTA - PENNE RIGATE

Ingredients:

1 cup of whole wheat pasta.

2 cups water.

1 small onion chopped.

5 cloves of garlic chopped.

1 cup mushroom sliced.

1 cup bell pepper sliced. [ it can be any colour of your choice ].

1/2 cup parsely.

1 tsp oil.

salt.

pepper powder.

Grated cheese.

pasta sauce.

For Sauce:

3 mashed plum tomatoes [ any kind of tomatoes can be used ].

1 cup fresh basil chopped.

5 cloves minced garlic.

1/2 minced onion.

2 tsp olive oil.

2 red peppers.

Method for sauce:

Add olive oil to a saucepan.

Add minced garlic and onion , saute until dey r cooked.

Add red peppers and saute for about 3mins until they become tender.

Now add the tomatoes and cook for about 10 to 15 mins till they become delicate.

Add chopped basil and let stand for 2mins.

Method for Pasta:

Add 2 cups of water to a sauce pan and bring them to boil.

Add pasta to it and cook it with a pinch of salt for about 15 to 20 mins.

When pasta is cooked , drain the water and keep it aside.

Heat oil in a pan , add chopped garlic and onion , saute them .

Add mushroom, bell pepper and cook them for about 2mins.

Add the pasta sauce , salt , pepper and bring them to a boil.

Add pasta and mix well.

Garnish with fresh parsely and grated cheese.
