Pasta with Chicken Sausage
5:06 PM1 lb Penne rigate
1 lb Chicken sausages
3 T Olive oil
1 Onion thinly sliced
3 Garlic cloves chopped
1 cup Chicken stock
1 can Tomato sauce [ 8 oz ]
1 cup Parsely
1 cup Grated parmesan cheese
3 slice Swiss cheese [ any cheese of your choice can be used ]
Salt [ to taste ]
Method:
Add 2 cups of water to a pot , when water comes to a boil , salt the water and add the pasta. let it cook for about 6-7 mins.Drain and keep it aside.
Heat a non-stick pan, add olive oil to it. Add the chopped garlic , onion and saute for 3mins , now add the sausages , and saute for 5-6 mins till the sausages are tender and well mixed with onion and garlic , add in the chicken stock and let it come to a boil .
At this stage add the tomato sauce , pepper powder and salt [ make sure to check for salt before adding , because sausage contains salt ]. when the sauce bubbles , add the pasta and 1/2 of parmesan cheese , parsely and stir.
preheat the broiler on high. Transfer the pasta mixture to a broiler safe bowl. Now add the remaining parmesan cheese . cover on top with thin slices of swiss cheese. keep it under the broiler for 2-3 mins till the cheese melts and forms a light brown crust.
